3 out of 10 rating

Cost: $25-$40 a month plus add ons

Pros: The largest websites for BDSM dating on the internet. Both are owned by the AdultFriendFinder company.

Cons:
– The website admits that the use pictures of models and create fake accounts for “illustrative” purposes
– Users have reported numerous issues and scams. Many believe the website is creating fake profiles/messages to get users to buy a membership.
– You cannot read messages sent to you without a paid membership.
– Many people have reported receiving messages but once they pay to join and reply, the sender disappearing.
– Fake users, even once they are reported, are not deleted/banned.
– WHEN YOU SIGN UP YOU GIVE THE WEBSITE PERMISSION TO SHARE YOUR INFORMATION, PROFILE AND PHOTOS ON OTHER WEBSITES

Review of the BDSM dating app KinkD

Website: http://www.kinkdapp.com
Rating: 5 out of 10
Cost: $15/month

Description: It has a swiping feature like Tinder or if you want to find something specific there is a profile search option. It also has a “wall” feature like Facebook.

They claim to have free membership but if you try to do something other than wink the app says you have to pay for the upgraded membership. We wrote support asking for details about what the free membership includes. They sent us a link to a page about posting on social media to get 1 day of free upgrades.

Pros:
– Versions for iPhone and Android.
– Sign up is easy.
– You can “wink” at someone and if they “wink” back you can send them a free message.

Cons:
– The free membership is extremely limited.
– Not many local members
– No way to set distance search
– Most profiles are not completed.
– The search feature is limited even if you pay for membership. No way to search by role, body type or relationship status
– The app doesn’t tell you when someone last logged in.
– No way to long in from a computer/web browser
– Couples often show up as single people.
– They allow users to post photos that aren’t of themselves (memes, flowers, pets).
– The wall feature is mostly the app trying to encourage people to spam their friends with links and people asking if there is anyone in their area
– We reported a few obvious scammers (stolen pics, faces pasted onto other people’s bodies and so on). Support emailed asking for proof but we were unable to provide it because we have no way of viewing the profile from a web browser.
